Note to Listeners:

Please be advised, with regret Chef Gigi Food Talk Radio has rescheduled Chef Channy’s visit to the studio due to current closure of the university.

As we head into the weekend, we are all dealing  with the fear of the unknown with COVID-19. Chef Gigi and crew are sending our positive vibe to all that have been affected.

Remember, breaking bread is at the center of a healthy physical and emotional lifestyle. We believe food is the center of our world and can heal. Chef Gigi is encouraging each of you to take time out of your day to eat clean and nourish your body.  Please remember to support small business like Chef Channy’s Angkor Foods, or your favorite restaurant by purchasing their products on-line or buy a gift certificate to use at a later date.

Foodies, stay calm and focus on scientific facts. Continue to wash your hands and please don’t forget to not let the water run when you’re counting to twenty!

Find ways to support seniors. Run an errand for someone elderly or those in need. Take advantage of this time to make a meal at home and unplug with your family.

It is times like these that can bring out the best in all of us. Remember not to panic, keep smiling. Love your neighbor, and be mindful and good to yourself. Smile more, not less.

We will keep you updated when Chef Channy is rescheduled!

Tune into Chef Gigi, and her Food Talk Radio here at KSCU 103.3 FM  Sunday, March 15th, at 6 PM PST! Chef Gigi is hosting Santa Clara University Alum Chef Channy Laux. Channy, a survivor of the 1975-79 Khmer Rouge Genocide in Cambodia, worked most of her career in the aerospace and biotech industries, walked away from the security of the corporate world to carry on her Mother’s food legacy.
Now, an Award-winning Chef and founder of Angkor Foods, Channy is sharing the beauty, balanced, healthful cuisine of Cambodia into American kitchens by providing authentic and hard to find ingredients along with easy to follow recipes. Chef Channy is the recipient of the prestigious sofiTM Award from the Specialty Foods and Innovation Foodservice Award from IFMA.
Chef also decided to focus on completing a promise that she made to herself as she and her family struggled to survive the Cambodian Genocide. “If I ever make it out alive, I will make sure the world knows what happened to us!” Channy keeping her promise has since published her survival experience in her book, “Short Hair Detention,” which has received multiple awards about a thirteen-year-old girl surviving the Cambodian Genocide.
Channy now balances her time between her business and educating communities on the Cambodian Genocide.
We are delighted to welcome her full-circle!
